During the Party, towards the end of the evening, Saxon takes a moment to speak with Oswyn privately.

Oswyn is in a fine mood, having partaken liberally of the wine, food, and woman provided in his personal room. It is the first time in quite a long time he had felt merry.
"A celebration worthy of the effot, my lord." he exclaimed. "You must tell me where you procure these wenches."

"Where ever I have to," Saxon replied with a slight smile, "I find to cast the prettiest fish, one must cast a wide net."

"A generous gesture." he commended with a broad smile, not leaving an exotic vintage untasted. "More grand than most of the spectacles combined, but what do you gain from it?"

Saxon frowned slightly, "Do I need to gain something, besides the company of my good friends?" he asked.

"There are more frugal ways to gain friends." he said with a laugh. "With the open invitation I imagine most of the guests are strangers to you, at least from their perspective. Perhaps you just enjoyed the sight of the realms greatest lords and ladies lowering themselves at the simple promise of exclusivity."
"Either way I raise my glass to you, though you certainly had my friendship before this night."

Saxon chuckled, "Are my ulterior motives so obvious?" he said, "since we are friends, I wonder if we could discuss a sensitive matter of business, for awhile, while continuing to socialize?"

"Certainly, I will try to keep my wits about me." he replied, thankful he knew the wine merchant Cave had used. "What did you wish to discuss?"

"It's a delicate situation... because it involves your... divorce. In the course of my usual duties, I have come into possession of certain facts you may find of interest, but may also make you question some things you currently know."

Oswyn felt his good mood dissipate, not having expected Saxon to prod the wound.
"What facts?" he asked, stone-faced now.

"Lord Tyrell, through his son Mace, arranged for forged notes, indicating infidelity to be presented to you regarding your wife Amelia. I have the forger's instruments, his dead body, and his neighbors identifying Mace Tyrell, and more importantly, Lord Mace's confession, that this is the case." Saxon said slowly. "I tell you my methods so you understand how I came to my conclusions. Ordinarily I would protect such information, but I think you have a right to know the how of it."

There was a long pause, Oswyn's mind dulled by the drink attempting to register all the information presented.
"I do not understand. He confessed to this?" he asked, more meekly than he intended. "What would my uncle have to gain by doing this?"

"It was done at the behest of your father," Saxon replied, sounding sad, "According to Lord Mace, your father blackmailed him into performing the deed. According to Lord Mace, that was in order to free you for a new marriage. He intimated that this was done with the knowledge of the Martells, but of that I can not be certain."

"You lie!" he spat, not willing to believe his father would put him through such hell just for political gain. The mace at his side suddenly felt heavy as his hands clenched into fists. "You will not dishonor my father with such slander before me!"

Saxon nodded, "I imagined that might be your reaction. But I am not paid for lies, I paid for truths. Ask Lord Mace if you wish, and see how convincing you find him. I had hoped that our history together would allow you know me as a man of my word. Truly, I learned these things, exactly as I told them to you, including for which things I have evidence, and for which I am relying on the Tyrell's claims." He eyed the mace carefully.
"I would encourage you to act rationally, whatever follows."
