Oswyn flashed a gallant smile that did not quite reach his eyes, his out-of-character hostility vanishing in an instant. He leaned forward to whisper so that only Doreah could hear him.
When he leaned back to a respectable distance, he said "Always a pleasure, Lady Lannister."

It was a testament of Doreah’s finely-honed self-control that she kept the dripping hatred she was experiencing from her face. Her back stiffened as he stepped away from her, and her bright green eyes connected squarely with his cold ones. Everything she could not convey to him in words seared into his pupils, burrowing into his skull with a vengeful force that would have had a lesser man stepping backwards and away from her. Her plush lips, however, curved into a smile.
“No, Ser Oswyn, the pleasure is mine. I cannot tell you how glad I am we have had this chance to talk. It has been…too long.”

"Indeed, far too long." he said, unflinching, the smile never leaving his face. "Do give your husband and daughter my best. With the war over, you will have to feast with us at Storm's End in the near future."

"We would not miss it. Hopefully this time it will not be so brief. Take care of yourself, Ser Oswyn." With that, Doreah turned heel and walked back in the direction of her husband, seething. He would come to regret that, that much she knew for certain.

"So what happened there?" Aurane asked under his breath, face displaying no curiosity that was evident in his voice.
Nymeria meanwhile giggled when she saw her Grandmother enter.

"So what happened there?" Aurane asked under his breath, face displaying no curiosity that was evident in his voice. Nymeria meanwhile giggled when she saw her Grandmother enter. Doreah kissed Aurane’s cheek reassuringly and was about to make some dismissive comment or the other when she saw a servant making her way directly to her. The young woman slipped her a piece of parchment covertly as she made her way past, and immediately continued on away from her as if nothing had occurred. It was a letter… Doreah read its contents rapidly and directly tucked it into the bodice of her dress. She leaned her face against Aurane’s and whispered into his ear, appearing distraught.

Rose thanked every one for their gifts with the same expression and tone as she was trained too.

Lord Saxon Cave, his attendant Ser Finn enter and politely make small talk with lesser lords of no particular note. After a while, when their gifts were presented to the queen, Isabel Hightower led her brother towards Cave's group. "Lord Cave," she said with a sweet smile. "My brother would like to make your acquaintance." "Gwayne Hightower," he introduced himself. "My sister spoke highly of your kindness, my lord."

"Your darling sister is far too kind, it was my pleasure," Lord Cave said with a bow, "I'd been looking forward to meeting you, Lord Gwayne, it is a shame it has taken so long. May I also introduce to you my son Ser Finn Stone."
The young man bowed slightly, and smiled warmly at Isabel.

"Well met, my lord, ser," Gwayne replied with perfect courtesy, looking curiously at Finn for just a moment. "My sister is undoubtedly charming," he agreed. "I am afraid that my duties in the Stepstones and Oldtown have kept me from court these many years. I hope to remedy that in the near future. I need to better acquaint myself with those who reside in the capital."
Izzy, smiling at Finn, said "Why don't we let your father talk to my brother for a bit. I am sure you could do with escape from your father's eagle eye for a while."

"If it were possible, I should certainly have done so by now," Finn agreed with a smile, "But I'm always anxious to try, if you're willing to aid and abet my escape?"
"Well it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I had hoped to speak with you, as I had heard that you had a bit of unpleasantness at the Hightower recently. True?"

"I would be happy to," said Izzy. "I am hoping to liven up my own life so why not help you do the same?" She winked mischievously at him. "And truth be told, it would be a great challenge, when your father is so clever."
Gwayne frowned. "I heard there was some nasty business, yes. I am not sure this is the right place to discuss it, Lord Cave. Though if you have an opinion on the matter I will gladly hear it, though not in public. It would be most unpleasant if the wrong ears overheard such things."

Lord Saxon nodded, "Well, I wouldn't worry to much Lord Hightower, yours is not the only house to suffer recently from a gross breach in security. But if you wish come and visit me later, I may be able to help you."
"Shall we try the Godswood," Finn suggested, "it's said there are no eyes there except the Old Gods."

"I will do so," Gwayne vowed. "Thank you, Lord Cave. i'm obliged to you. Will tomorrow suit you?"
Izzy smiled. "I do not believe in the Old Gods. Perhaps that means there will be nobody watching me. not even the Seven Above. But I like trees and gardens as well as anyone and it will be pleasant to get away from the crowd."
