"No, I would never." Oswyn corrected, the levity falling from his face as he recomposed his respectful demeanor. "I was referring to many of those in the masses mob you sought reprieve from."

Rose winced, "I am sorry I was trying to make a joke. I often fail at that."

"Nonsense, Your Grace." he said with a reassuring smile, reminding himself that despite the power she wielded, Rose was still just a young woman. "These are merely the hiccups involved in getting to know one another."

Rose nodded, "I hope I do not hiccup much longer. It is growing... annoying."

"It will pass." he said kindly "Perhaps in time for the coronation."

"I can only hope, but I have some rather severe doubts. Being Queen could not have happened to a worse person." Rose replied dryly.

"I am sure many great rulers have thought the same." he said with optimism. "Aegon the unlikely for example."
"Maybe those hesitant to rule are those best suited to bear the weight, rather than those that desire it above all. You have wise ministers on your Small Council and with their help I have no doubt you will bear the weight with grace and poise."

"Well thank you, Oswyn. You have a kind way about you." Rose replied, "I had heard about your injury."

Leyton moved through the crowd, a drink in his hand. Of what it was he was unsure, his joy at the impending honor that awaited him muddling his mind much more than the alcohol he had consumed. He looked for a familiar face to share his news with.

Gareth had moved away from the group he had been part of when Lord Tyrell and the Baratheon heir excused themselves. He had watched them go with a knowing smile on his face. He wandered the manse looking for his siblings.

He looked for a familiar face to share his news with. "Leyton!" A golden hand grabbed Leyton's arm and towed him backwards, right towards a petite girl with skin and hair the color of sun-bleached bronze. "You look like a man grown since the last time I saw you! It was not that long ago, surely. How have you been?" Teirney shot him a bright smile.

"Well thank you, Oswyn. You have a kind way about you." Rose replied, "I had heard about your injury." "Just a flesh wound, Your Grace." he replied, with more bravado and confidence then he felt. "I heard of the unfortunate occurrence here. Did you witness it?"

Leyton beamed, he was so excited about his news he neglected to ask how she had been, moving straight to the source of his joy. "Your father is going to knight me on the morrow! This is the greatest day of my life!" Leyton looked quite handsome when he smiled, which was a rarity, his face usually impassive. He looked down at Tierney as he spoke to her as a consequence of his greater height.

"He is, truly?" Teirney squeezed his hand encouragingly, feeling sincere pride at Leyton's accomplishments. He had always been a sweet and very hardworking boy, and Teirney considered her father's attitude towards him as decidedly lacking. It was not right hat such a creature as Leyton could ever go overlooked, and she always ensured to shower him with praise and attention whenever she had the opportunity, despite his sometimes puzzling quietness.
"It should have come sooner, Leyton, but I am glad it is happening finally! You must make sure to rest for tomorrow! You need to send word to your mother and father about this."

Leyton beamed. "I am sure that your father had reasons for waiting, but I am glad I have finally earned my spurs!" His smile faded slightly at the mention of his parents. "You are right of course, I should write to my mother. I...well regretablly I'm unsure where my father is right now, it has been some time since I have heard from him. Perhaps my uncle knows of his whereabouts." Leyton looked thoughtful for a moment, before seemingly dismissing the thought that had been troubling him. "But neither of my parents are here right now, and were they I am sure I would have embarrassed them through my poor manners. How have you been Teirney? It has been quite some time since we last spoke, as you said yourself."
