she smiled with a small blush,"I don't know, I think he's from House Royce but he's talking with Baratheons." She shrugged,"I was told never to deal with Baratheons since I am from Dorne."

"And then the rumours begin," Aurane said to Izzy. "I was expected to represent the Westerlands and so I did; I was taught in the art of war, but I need not like it." His looks softened. "But there is no need to discuss such dreadful topics." He smirked. "I like your dress."

"The Baratheons all seem like dumb brutes," Nymeria said judgmentally. "My aunt married the dullard that got himself near crippled in the Stepstones. I feel sorry for her."

"Of coucse. Nobody could expect otherwise of the Lord Commander," Gwayne replied smoothly. "Unless of course the King had wished to go to war. But it is useless to speculate on what might have been. If the exiled prince gives trouble, you may get to go to war after all, ser." "I'll get no pleasure from that," Ser Rickon replies with a grimace, "Even if he turned out to be a traitor, I've known Prince Damon since he was born. But let us speak of more pleasant things. How is Oldtown, these days? I've not been since...oh, I must have been about your age. A tournament your grandfather threw, if I recall."

"I still do not feel comfortable around them", she continued to look, making sure to find her words carefully because she did not fully trust Nymeria.
"I just want to know who the Royce is, no one else."

"But there is no need to discuss such dreadful topics." He smirked. "I like your dress." "You are very kind, my lord," she said at once. "Your own attire is most handsome too. I am blessed with the kind of figure that looks good in most anything, thankfully, so having a seamstress sew a dress to suit me is not hard. I had to dress with special care tonight, of course, with Lord Tyrell having been my goodfather. I had to represent both the Hightowers and the Tyrells." "I'll get no pleasure from that," Ser Rickon replies with a grimace, "Even if he turned out to be a traitor, I've known Prince Damon since he was born. But let us speak of more pleasant things. How is Oldtown, these days? I've not been since...oh, I must have been about your age. A tournament your grandfather threw, if I recall." "Long ago, then. Perhaps Oldtown will have to host a tourney again one day," Gwayne mused. "The city is well, and prosperous. It was a relief to come home when the war ended. But if you have some time away from your duties, ser, I would be honoured to play host."

Rickon smiled at that. "I've been a brother of the Kingsguard for nigh on thirty years, now, and I could not tell you the last time I had more than half a day away from my duties. No, that's not quite right. I was permitted to make the trip to Winterfell when my brother passed. But mayhaps Her Grace will take a trip there, sooner or later. A queen has need of a king, after all, and worse could be done than the strapping young Lord of the High Tower."

Gwayne had to smile at that.
"Yes, well, that is for the new queen to decide. I have yet to meet her. It may be that she looks elsewhere. Though it's as I told Lord Tyrell, I'd be honoured if I were to be chosen as the queen's consort. But you know her better than I. Perhaps she has eyes for someone else already?"

"Her Grace has not been seeing many visitors since her father's passing. So far as I know, she has no intentions in that regard. But she will need to consider the matter before long."

"Yes. I understand that. But I am sure Her Grace is both fair and wise. I would love to meet her, but I do not wish to give offence by seeming to court her when the King is so recently deceased. Truth be told, I wish my wife, whoever she is, to want me for myself, not for my position," he sighed. "But I suppose that is foolish for a man in my position."

"Perhaps a bit. But I would certainly like to see Her Grace happy in marriage."

"I am sure all loyal men would," Gwayne replied. "I am happy to put myself forward as a candidate, if Her Grace and I should happen to like one another. But I won't my breath either."

"I could make mention of it, should I get a chance. But I ought to return to my place, with the Hand. I'm sure I will see you again before long, Lord Hightower."

"Let us hope so."
But Gwayne wondered why the Lord Commander was so interested in his own chances of marrying the princess.
"I would be most obliged for your support, should the princess take an interest in me. if not, well, no matter. But yes, you must put your duties first, of course."

"I just want to know who the Royce is, no one else." "Well then maybe you should ask him," Nymeria replied, a hint of annoyance in her voice. "He doesn't look that interesting to me. The Royces live in the mountains of the Vale... how boring." She yawned.

"Blessed is the right word," Aurane said, taking her in with a lingering glance. "As for your representation... I find a slight is not the worst thing, once in a while. See how riled up your lords or opponents get; a test, if you wish. It's the ones that remain very calm that one needs to worry about."
