Tomas took an opportunity to check that the man was well tied up, and then descended as well, bringing with him an extra torch.

Crawley rubs the bloody bite on his neck irritably. "I think you earned point on this one," he grumbles, before lifting a torch in one hand and re-drawing his sword in his other hand.

Tomas didn't argue, but drew his own sword, torch in the off-hand, "Fair enough. I'd say we're done taking prisoners, yes?"

The tunnel twisted lower and lower into the dark earth. Before coming to a ledge over looking a large cavern.

Crawley moves forward cautiously, setting down his torch a little ways back then peering over the edge.

Tomas followed behind, resting his hand on Crawley's shoulder so the man didn't bump into him if he backed up suddenly or be startled and send them both off the ledge.

The room was vast, and there was writing on the floor in language nether could distinguish with out getting much closer. There was a way to climb down into the dark below them.

Tomas removed rope from his pack and tied it to his waist. "Secure me if I slip, I want rubbing of those symbols" he said, feeling for the parchment and charcoal in his pocket.

Tomas made his way down towards the written language. He scanned with his torch to be sure of his footing and that no one was lurking, and then approached to get a rubbing of the words.

There were sounds in the darkness, but no one came out of the dark shadows to assault him. He took a long rubbing.
