"The only traitor here is you," Aurane said dangerously, still gripping the sword his father had given him for his last name day. He stared in anger for a long time at his father, before throwing the sword at his feet and leaving. He would find the nearest Maester and send him to the house.

"The truth" Tynian replied bitterly, not wanting his mother's self-righteous "Gerion was in the right" speech right now. He winced under the maester's expert care and felt around his mouth with his tongue, discovering a loose tooth. He sighed heavily and winced as his injured ribs began to make their presence felt. Now that the adrenaline was leaving him all he felt was tired. And alone. So alone.

"I'm a Lannister, whatever you and my father may think of me. My place is here!" he glared at her, though one eye was beginning to swell and close. "I won't let my father ruin my life, before it's even begun..." he said, becoming very tired as the weariness of his close call began to take it's toll. A few seconds followed and his eyes closed and his breathing became more regular, though it whistled slightly through his nose as his cheek began to swell underneath his eye.

A candle lit up the room, pushing weakly against the shadows that crept along the stolid walls.
"Tynian?" a low voice probed at the same moment a hand closed gently around his wrist.

Tynian groaned as the light touch on his bruised skin awoke him from his sleep. He moved his head to the side and forced his good eye open to see who had disturbed him.

Doreah’s face flickered eerily above him own, the dark corners tucked down in a grim cast.
“It seems I have missed your…reception, child.”Doreah had not the opportunity to grow up with Tynian, as had his siblings—she scarce knew the boy, truly—but her heart felt heavy as she scanned his body of bruises and beheld his tired, resentful eyes, withdrawn as if always defended against conflict.
“How are you faring?”

Tynian did not recognise this strange woman and wondered if it was some nurse or septa his mother had arranged, though in truth she didn't look like any septa he'd met and her finery seemed to rich too be that of a servant. With that last thought, the penny dropped about her identity and he sighed softly. "Doreah?" he said questioningly. "I've had better days" he said with a small smile, which turned into a wince of pain as he moved slightly on his bed.

Tynian threw the maester a startled look at the idea of disrobing in front of his brother's wife. "No!" he blurted out quickly. "I mean, I can speak to my sister-in-law and have my bath after that" he continued, firm in his resolve, and clutched and pulled his blanket a bit higher up so that his torso was covered as well as his legs.

OOC: lol. that is all.
Doreah hid her impatience with the Maester's interruption quite well behind her smile. "You are too kind in looking after Tynian so dutifully Maester _____?_____. A hot bath will be just what the boy needs, you have the right of it. Perhaps you could give me and the boy a moment to reacquaint ourselves with one another before the household wakes and takes him away from me? I feel terribly I was not here earlier to receive him home." She threw Tynian an apologetic glance.

Ooc: you kids are so ridiculously polite to servants just kick him out haha The maester bowed and left, only giving Tynian a look of lingering regret. OoC: That's not how Doreah operates, she's all about winning people to her side to grow her army, hahaha Doreah quickly checked the door to ensure no one was listening in, and turned back to boy. "You are fortunate a maester was able to come quickly to your aid, Tynian. Your bruises are...extensive." She gritted her teeth at that, how somebody could beat their own son in such a manner--it shocked and repulsed her.

Tynian smiled sadly. "It is not good fortune. My father always had a Maester in his entourage. Someone, either a servant or one of us incur his wroth and he would rather have a paid healer to hand at all times instead of having to rely on someone else's Maester; who might not be as discreet at keeping it hushed up" he winced as he tried to sit up in his bed.
"I'm sorry that this is how we meet and even more sorry that no one warned you about our family before you joined it" he continued. "Though this was the worst he's been before i think" gesturing weakly at his injuries.

Though he was not much younger than herself, Doreah felt maternal sadness for the boy. Those eyes were haunted by a pain much greater than the one he bore on his physical body, and he seemed more animal than man in the dim light, ensconced in bed and watching her uncertainly with the hyper-vigilance of a deer.
“Do not apologize, dear” she said kindly, moving quickly to his side to help him up into a comfortable position. “I am sorry for not being there to help you, as I should have been.” She knew her words were empty, because there would have been little she could have done to stop Gerion, but she felt the regret, nonetheless.
“Tynian, you do not have to let him do this to you.” Her voice was suddenly grave and low. She brushed his hair with her fingers. “This is wrong, what he does to you.”

Tynian flinched at the contact from her and then relaxed a little when it didn't lead to violence. He looked at Doreah carefully, unsure how much to trust this stranger to him. Actually, he mused, perhaps I can trust her more, exactly because she was only joined to the family by marriage. "I-I know" he said softly, keeping his voice low so that it didn't carry. "I hate him! I hate what he's done to all of us. I don't think I can live with him any more but I know he won't let me escape. He likes to keep us all nearby, under his gaze and in his power" his eyes took on a faraway look as he imagined another 10 years but this time back home in Casterly Rock.
"I won't do that" he said softly. "I won't!" he said, his voice stronger and firmer in resolve.

“No one so young should have to suffer the things you have and see the things you’ve seen, dear. One day, and not a day far away, he will kill you. You know this, no?” She stroked his hair again, as she did her own children. “He has nearly killed you already. Will you let him do this to you? You must be strong, Tynian. It is easy to close your eyes and hope for the best to pass, but it is the difficult path that ensures survival. You must act for your own life and oppose him. There are ways to do this, if you are brave.”

"I know" he answered quietly "I know what I have to do. Not just for me. For all of us" Tynian replied quietly. The fear was still there along with certainty and something else, something ugly which seemed out of character on his face.
