Lyssandra listened intently, "It's only fun as a game with small pieces on a board rather than using real lives." The cat Lyssandra was attending to when Tully entered the courtyard mewed at Lyssandra for attention and she leaned over to pick the cat up to put in her lap. "The King thinks its necessary to go to war with the Stepstones." He looks to her. "And what do you think?" He smiles at the cat that entered, returning focus to the Martell.

"It's necessary for him to control his pieces," Lyssandra said while looking down to pet her cat. "I would not envy the man standing on a ship ready to assault one of those islands to fight against pirates. As we heard, some of the Lords don't really want to be involved but they do not have much of a choice."

"Of course, war for the crown means loosing men, men who have lives and families, also men who help keep their realms safe." He looked to her, "But we must head our king, we must come when he calls." He looks to her.

Lyssandra looked up from her cat and to the bag Tully brought with him, "So what did you bring? I would like to know more of these practice scenarios you spoke about."

Lyssandra looked up from her cat and to the bag Tully brought with him, "So what did you bring? I would like to know more of these practice scenarios you spoke about." "Ah yes, best we be on to something more happy and entertaining." He said and opened the boxes. "Alright, so this is a simple type of game, it is small and only has three peaces." He pulls out three different peaces, one that looks like its holding a bow, another holding a spear, and the last a man on a horse. "Okay, so you have the Archers, light units that can fire from range, but they have weak armor and low close combat skill." He sets that down. "Spearmen, medium units, holding spears lightly armored and good againt horses, but vunrable to archers due to their slow moving formations." He sets that down, "And then the Horsemen or Knights, heavy armored fast and have large amounts of close combat ability, but they fail against spears and can defeat the Archers well."

Lyssandra looked over the pieces and listened to Lord Tully, "That sounds silly, the horsemen should break the lines of the infantry." She looked from the pieces to Lord Tully with a raised brow. "I would use a lot of horse pieces and just run around the field with them."

"Yes, but the spears are long and in formation take down the horses well. If you simply run around the field a good commander would just wait for you to attack first." He smiles.

"I would still take lots of cavalry, if their formation does not break, then the horses retreat. I would run away if I saw a knight on a horse charging at me. Isn't that scary? But you know more than me, please tell me more." She thought in her mind how silly it was that footmen represented the best option versus knights on horseback.

He smiled at her, "Well for now, the setting is just a field, nothing to extravagant, simply to start off with, no weather conditions and the middle of the day." He says.

"Um, no, I think I understand for now. This seems less complicated than cyvasse but it is the simple things that can be overlooked. Is there an order that pieces are chosen?"

In a private solar Carmesí sat, reviewing state documents with a careful eye and a keen interest. Through the window spilled a powerful golden sunlight. It was near sunset, and in the abundance of dense, beaming light there were swirling moats of dust that stirred in the breeze which danced through the large open windows, gently rearranging her hair as she paged tirelessly through her work.

Evan stood in the doorway silently watching his sister as he did when he was a boy. The title of ruler suited her. The women of the Martells were always strong, beautiful and deadly, if you crossed them.
He stood watching her a few minutes longer with a small smile and then departed for the Gardens.
