"Rachael," The red-head said with a broad smile as Ser Regard slid into the table seat and then pulled her down onto his lap, "Regard is here so often, we call him Ser Regular."

Raynard chuckled at the jest. "He must be an excellent hedge knight in that case, my dear, because looking around this does not appear to be a place you can be niggardly with your money and still have so many 'friends' to keep you company" he smiled non-judgementally as he looked round the establishment.
"You do, however, have excellent taste in both women and drinking houses Ser" he raised his horn of ale in salute.
"Do you joust Ser?" he asked curiously

"I jousted today, not very successfully," Regard admitted, "but I confess my financial talents lay more in dice then in winning prize purses, and there I've done quite well."

Raynard shrugged, a little surprised that the knight was so open with his lack of martial skill but not truly shocked to hear that. "Each man should pursue the things he excels in. I confess I am a poor gambler. Dice is one thing, but I'm terrible at cards. No poker face so I'm told" he chuckled.
"I'm a fair to middling drinker though" he said, shaking his empty mug optimistically.

"Well shall we dice for drinks then? My dicing against your drinking talent, a classic martial tale of whether a strong offense bests a solid defense." Regard said. "Rachael here can judge for fairness." Regard proposed.

A young man entered the tavern. He was slender with smooth skin and looked barely old enough to drink. He glanced nervously around, hand going to the hilt of his longsword, and stepped anxiously into the room where he stood looking around, though he seemed afraid to approach a serving wench.

Barb behind the counter gave the young man a cheerful, "Hull'o there young ser! Welcome to the Love Or Money! Come in and make yourself welcome."

Raynard chuckled "I wasn't born yesterday 'Ser Regular' and it seems to me that I'd be playing your game by your rules and I don't mean to impune the honor of the lovely lady but she might waver and be tempted to aid you in fleecing the pockets of a new customer to this establishment to keep your repeat custom". He glanced at the candles, trying to judge the time. "In any case, it is late and I will take my leave. I wish you well Ser. My comrades are not nearly so careful as I" he said with a wink

Barb behind the counter gave the young man a cheerful, "Hull'o there young ser! Welcome to the Love Or Money! Come in and make yourself welcome." The young man pushed his shoulder-length black hair away from his face as he looked at Barb. His expression was dubious. "I...um...I think I came to the wrong place by mistake. I was supposed to meet someone here. But I don't see him. Um...do you have mead, mistress? I am...quite fond of mead." His fingers twitched on his sword hilt.

Regard chuckled, "Well we could have a found a woman for you so we both had a second to vouch for us, if you felt it made things fairer," he chuckled, "But as you wish ser."

Raynard merely smiled and tapped the two fingers of his right hand to his temple in salute.
"Another time perhaps Ser" he replied, bowed to Rachael and left the establishment.

"You won't need that Ser," Barb said gesturing to the sword while reaching to a flagon and filling a pewter mug with mead placing it on the bar top and waiting for the young man to approach, "And whom are you looking for? Perhaps they are here?"

The youth blushed and fidgeted with his hair and sword belt before he went to the bar and took the mug.
"My friend. He said he'd be here. But I don't see him. He's a knight. Taller than me, with dark hair."
He glanced where from where some of the men were frolicking with girls prior to retiring to the bedchambers, his cheeks flaming at the sight. He lifted the mug of mead.
"I um...could I wait for him?"

"Of course dear," Barb said patting his hand, "Would you like to stay here at the bar? Or would you prefer somewhere a little more private?"

"Oh. Um..."
The young man looked all around and finally seemed slightly relieved.
"Could I wait in a private room for my friend, then?"
