The rooms that were assigned to Lord and Lady Stark. More lavish then some but not others, though Lord Stark seemed not to take notice.

Lord Edrick Stark quietly sits in his room next to the fire. A mug of something sits next to him as the Lord slowly reads through a few letters.

A hard and decisive knock comes to his door.

A young boy opens the door and looks outside. While Lord Starks page is doing his duties the Lord of Winterfell puts down the latest letter and looks up, putting his hands neatly into his lap.

Ser Malcolm had washed himself thoroughly and put on his best clothing for the meeting with Lord Stark. He bowed his head slightly to the boy who opened the door.
"Ser Malcolm Royce wishes to speak with his lord Stark, I think he is expecting me."

The page steps back and opens the door wider allowing Ser Malcolm entrance. Edrick Stark studies the man for moment before gesturing towards the empty seat next to him.
"Would you care for anything Ser Malcolm?"

Ser Malcolm sat down in the offered seat, taking in the room quickly, before nodding.
"Maybe some northern ale if you have that, my lord"

At that Edrick cracks a grin, something that seems out of place on the normally very somber man, "Excellent choice. I like to enjoy a mug of ale while I pass the time reading." As the page moves to find a another mug, Edrick stands and waves the boy away allowing Lord Stark to find a match of the same mug he drinks from. It is quickly thrust into Malcolms hand and filled.
"Pray tell me what you think of it?" Asked Edrick.

Malcolm accepted the mug with a smile, and didn't wait long before taking a swig from it.
"It has a much fuller taste to it than our southern ale" he answered truthfully "I haven't had much of it before, but to me this tastes just fine"

Edrick sagely nods his head, "Good good." Taking his seat again Lord Stark slowly wraps his hands around his mug, "Well you are here for a purpose shall we into it."

Malcolm nodded approvingly at how direct Lord Edrick was, thankful that he didn't have to go through the small talk and procedure that many lords in the south held dearly onto, like a baby and it's blanket.
"Yes, my lord Stark. I wished to discuss a possible fostering of my son, Robert, at Winterfell." He said, deciding not to dance around the matter.

"Tell me about your Son." Edrick asked looking to Malcolm, "How old is he? Does he follow the Seven or the Old Gods like myself and the North. At one point House Royce as well but things change with time."

Ser Malcolm nodded.
"My son is two years now, a young and curious boy that isn't afraid of much. As to which gods he follows he is too young to have made a decision about which gods he follows. I am a follower of the Seven, but his mother is a follower of the Old Gods so we are trying to teach him both."

"Then he will be taught both. When would you have the fostering begin Ser Malcolm?" Edrick takes a long drink then refills his mug as he waits for the Knight to reply.

Ser Malcolm was a bit suprised at the Lord Stark's question, he and his wife hadn't discussed that, so he took a while to think it through.
"Well, he is two now, and I doubt his mother would part with him before five. So not before then."
