Mariya drew her sword and ran forward without a thought, stabbing at the lion.

The Lion roared and spun towards the two its paw batting out against them. Mariya took the brunt of the blow and she fell, her bloody sword still in hand. Once again Finn was face to face with a lion. This one had two eyes as it leaned back to leap.

Mariya lay on the ground, groaning. She tried to see if Michael was alright while she adjusted her grip on her sword.

Finn sighed, to scared to even expend the effort to piss himself. He waved his dagger violently, while grabbing the back of Mariya's shirt, and yanking her backwards. "HELP!" He yelled uselessly for some of the Fosterlings back with the King.

The bloody mess that was Michael shifted, and his blade cleaved into the back leg of the cat, who spun back at him, and half collapsed as that leg could not longer hold his weight. It roared in pain.

Mariya pulled free of Finn and darted forwards to drive her sword into the lion's body, but made sure she did so while it was facing the other way.

Finn was knocked aside by Mariya, and she slayed the lion with strong blow. Finn was staring into the field and he saw a single malevant eye staring directly at him on his hands and knees. He felt Sable right beside him growling.

Mariya turned from the dead lion and pulled her sword out, twisting the blade to help it get free. She backed away from the corpse.

Finn stood shakily, and cursed his own cowardice. "Michael.." he croaked at Mariya," Is he okay?"

"I don't know," she said. "I'll find out. Watch out for the lion."
She moved over to where Michael lay and knelt by him to see how badly he was injured.

Dunnock hears the screaming in the near distance, and waits several heartbeats. He had no intention of going fist-to-claw with a lion, but perhaps there was something else he could do.
He puts his knees into the horse until it canters over to where the blood is. He looks down at the Hightower boy, bleeding out of the sort of wound that killed men. "Put him on the horse," Dunnock says, to Mariya and Finn. "Needs the maester, fast."

Mariya nodded. Her face was white with shock. She put down her sword and positioned herself in such a way to help lift Michael. She lifted his shoulders and waited for Finn to take his legs.
