"I'm good thanks. You got robots after you?" Troll asked, sounding confused.

Sam rubbed his eyes, "Earlier today I was on a bus that some Somalis shot up. I think they were gunnen for that kid. So I took her and split. Trying to figure out what to do and I get a mysertious phone call telling me that they would pay five k if I kept her safe for twenty four hours." He sipped his coffee and sat down, "And when I jacked in... well what I saw is not normal. She is pulling in data streams from all across the web. It ain't a little girl in there. Its some kind of computer... thing."

"How is that even possible?" Troll asked.

"I have no idea. The only thing I can think of is the good doctor, Igor, white sheets and lightning rods, and then puff you have a little girl with the processing power of a supercomputer." He rubbed his eyes, "She gave me a name though. Dr Susan Carpenter."

"Yeah? She's one of the scientists at The Camp." Troll said. "Donno what she does though. I'm not exactly anxious to go there."

Sam nodded slowly, "Yeah it is not a fun place. Been there once or twice. Will have to see if Garfield is working today." Then he said, "Tabby run a search on Dr Susan Carpenter see what you get."
He looked back to the Troll, "Would bet you a boatload of bananas that she is either Neuroscience or Computers." He sipped his coffee.

"Yeah... sorry I am an idiot. Hold off for now then, do not want to bring any heat down in here." Sam said, and then looked at the Troll, "Is your chess set electronic or wood?" He sipped his coffee, and added, "What do you think Troll? That meeting tomorrow... I do not like the sound of it."

"If you bail on it, you risk cheesing off God only knows who." Troll replied, "And it's the old fashioned kind. You know that. I like to handle the pieces."

"This guy might not give a fig for the girl, what if he just rips the cyber out of her head." Sam sipped his coffee, "You know any docs who know headware and how to be discreet? Cause I know one guy up at the hospital, but the man can not keep a secret, and people will be looking for any kind of breadcrumbs."

"I don't know anybody with the tech that doesn't answer to someone," Troll, "So someone is gonna find out."

"Yeah. They do like their highly organized chains of command." Sam thought more, and looked to see if the girl was motionless still. "Still do not want them just to cut up and throw away the extra bits. She is just a kid."

He nodded. "Not sure. if you've got money, you could try the black clinic in A town. They're discrete, and do good work. But they've got Laotian ties, so.. you might have to get approval from the Old Men first. I don't think they'd cut up a girl though. Just a guess."

Sam shook his head, "I am trying to avoid cutting up a girl. Right now my only goal is to get her out of this alive. Frag the money." He stared into his cup, "Do you notice how she has not moved since we got here?"

Troll shrugged, "I thought she was autistic or something like that." He said. "How did she get on a bus in the first place?"
