Sam looked at his coat pocket, and grimaced before replying, "Thank you Tabitha." He hated all technology. He wanted to go back a hundred years when everything was simple, and easy. He reached out, and gently pulled her eye pads. Then he said, "Hello"

Natasha grumbled and leaned her head against the window, closing her eyes again.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHH!" A piercing scream shattered the (somewhat) peaceful nature of the bus trip, as the young girl let loose a howl at a pitch as a shrill as a dog whistle, which tore Natasha's eyes open immediately destroying any hope of sleeping, probably for days. "AAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" the screaming continued unabated. "AAAAAAAAHH!!"

Sam thought, of course. This is my life, and I should have known. He asked, "Are you alright? Hey kid, its alright. You are safe." He held the pop in front of her.

"Jesus, mister!" Natasha snarled, jumping up from her seat and making her way to the front of the bus. "Can't you shut the girl up or something?"

"Passenger!" The Automated Bus Driver Program said, barely audible over the screaming, "Moving while the bus is in motion is against the... AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The screaming continued. The girl paid no notice of the lolly, or Sam, or anything, but merely had her eyes clenched tight, and was screaming at the top of her lungs.

Sam pressed her eye pads back against her eyes. He was desperate, and he knew his cheeks burning bright red with embarrassment.

The girl's cries ended immediately. She returned to the passivity with which Sam first spotted her.

Sam turned to look at Natasha, "There alright. I took care of it." He sighed, and then held out the hand with the lollipop in it, "Would you like a sucker?" He forced a fake smile to his face, as he thought some rather unkind things.

Natasha raised an eyebrow and put a hand on her hip. "Is that a proposition, mister? 'Cause it if is then boy are you outta luck."

Sam looked at the lollipop in his hand, and said, "So you do not like candy then." He took the bag out of his pocket, and put the pop back in there. He looked at her, and settled back against the seat. A little annoyed that he was going to have to follow this kid home to wherever she lived just to make sure she was okay.

"Surprised you tried it on with someone who isn't a little girl," Natasha said as she passed Sam on the way back to her seat. She sat down and leaned back. "God damn kid..."

Malcolm awoke with a start at the sound of screaming, nightmares from the past rising to the surface. The fingers on his hidden cybernetic hand began twitching, reading the adrenaline from his terror and alarm as a signal that combat was forthcoming.
Assessing the situation he quickly picked out the screaming little girl as the source of the commotion and relaxed his bloodthirsty appendage. He was annoyed to say the least. The merc has not had any restful sleep in years that was not alcohol induced. But something about the rumbling of the bus had felt familiar, like the innumerable military transports he had enjoyed some well-earned rest on in his various tours around the wartorn parts of world.
"I'll take one as long as you're offering." he called out to the fool in the funny hat that had started the commotion. His voice was deep and gravelly, echoing across the bus.

Tyler twitched a little too violently and slammed his face into the glass, he sat up and rubbed his eyes."Oh god, fuck." He breathed deeply before looking around."How far away are we", he asked no one in particular.

Morrigan sat hunched on her seat. She hated the screaming of small children and had been forced to cover her ears when it happened. It was strange, she thought, when childish cries left her cold and angry, whereas the cries of animals in distress moved her deeply. She was extremely relieved when the girl stopped wailing and took the chance to peer around her seat at the other passengers.
