"Yes," said Mariya. "But I thought it would be a cause for celebration, yet Lord Hightower says not. So I'm not sure what to think now."

"I am... in the same way of thinking as Lord Hightower." Tyana admitted, pouring a cup of wine and taking a sip, "But it is not for me to tell you what you should and should not want to celebrate." she raised her cup in toast, "Here is to your tenure as a knight. Good luck."

Mariya nodded and raised her own goblet.
"Thank you, Tyana. I still don't understand what the problem is. It's not like I've committed a crime."

"I imagine in their eyes you have done, I mean, if nothing else, you've humiliated men everywhere, after all, you can't be much older than I am and certainly not the oldest of the fosterlings, and already a knight? Will make people talk about the men in our company, letting their women do the fighting." She said, with a smile at the though, "Anyway, good for you, better you did something than sit their crying into your skirts."

"Yes. I did," Mariya sgreed. "It's what I always wanted. To do something, I mean. I just thought it would mean more."
She sighed and started to cut a slice of bread.
"Do you think it was very wrong of me to dream of better things, Tyana?"

"I don't think better is the word you're looking for, you dunno if it is better at the moment, so I would say you're dreaming of different things." Tyana said, looking at her and then shrugging slightly, "I do not think you will get very far with what you are doing? But where would we be without people willing to cause disruption in the given order?"

Mariya shrugged.
"I suppose that's true. But you're right. The lives of women will never change unless somebody does something. So that's what I want to do. What about you, Tyana? What do you think?"

"I am fairly fine with my lot, thought it is a lot better than most. I have found that things rarely change without an upheaval of sorts, if you understand what I mean." Tyana replied, again taking a sip of wine.

"Hmm, perhaps you're right. I envy you, you know. It probably helps, being a Lannister," Mariya sighed. "But I don't want to be bitter, or anything. But so much the better if you're not to be forced into a marriage that I don't imagine would suit you."

"Could you even imagine me being married to Baelor?" She asked with a small laugh, "Perhaps I should marry you, now you are a dashing knight."

Mariya laughed.
The septons might have a thing or two to say about that, though I'd never make any demands upon you. I don't think you'd be allowed to get off that lightly."
