Tytos looked longingly. He nodded twice. "Will it truly do as you say?" he asked in a queit voice, barely audible over the fray. "Course it will," Ramsay said, "Gimme a stag, and I'll give you a pinch."

Ser Gruffydd Harlaw watches his cousin with a critical eye, pleasantly surprised that the boy was doing so well, for he had not been a very keen student in the past few months when learning the lance. "I'll buy a pouch, Northman," he said to Ramsay, holding up a small leather pouch that, while empty, was stained red enough to show that it contained sourleaf at most times. "My last stock was from the Reach, where do you get your leaf?" he asked.

"Course it will," Ramsay said, "Gimme a stag, and I'll give you a pinch." The boy looks nervous, and reaches into his pocket. He is about to hand the silver over when Garlan comes back and grips him by the ear. "What in the Seven bloody hells are you doing? A silver for a bale of sourleaf? Are you daft?" he curses, dragging him away. Tytos looks back before wincing in pain and following Garlan.

Bran Celtigar leads his horse out onto the field, and salutes the king, and then takes his place.
Maron Harlaw signals he is ready.
Bran signals he is ready.
The charge at one another, and both lances shatter. Neither rider is unhorsed though so they each draw another lance and prepare for another tilt.
On the second pass it is Bran who gets in a strong blow against the Ironborn's shield. Maron's lance head was just wide.
The crowd murmurs approval, none have been rooting for the Ironborn brat.
Yet on the third pass it is Harlaw who cracks his lance.
Since the score is two to two, the two squires retake their places.
On the fourth pass it is Harlaw who lands such a hit that Celtigar is unhorsed and Harlaw wins with ease.
Maron Harlaw has 20 points.
The crowd groans in disappointment.

It doesn't like the lowlands, it likes the hillsides, and it leeches acids from the rocks as make it more potent," Ramsay explains, as he exchanges coin for a pouch of leaf and hands it to the Ironman. "See if that ain't ten times better then any reach weeds."

Ser Gruffydd stuffs a wad in between his lower lip and gum, pressing it tight to cause the juice to leak out. "Aye, that is good," he said, spitting a red gob onto the ground. "I never liked much from the reach, but there's so bloody much of it, and cheap, it is hard not to find yourself in possession of some in the southlands. Whereabouts in the North are ye from, friend?" he asked

"I'm from Widow's Watch." He replied.

Gruffydd shrugged. He knew the northern coastlines well enough, but did not know the names of many places, even if they were on the coast. "Will you be competing, once the boys have finished and the men take the field?" he asked good naturedly, gesturing at the lists where Maron Harlaw was unseating a knight from crownlands.

"Don't joust," Ramsay replied, "But me and my cousins have signed for the melee sure enough."

"It will be a good competition, to be sure. I will see you on the field, then," he said a little awkwardly, and then moved off to return to his seat.

"Good day." Ramsay confirmed, before moving on, hawking his wares.

Bran struggles to his feet with the help of a nearby page and raises his hand to the crowd to thank them for their support. He leads his horse across to Marlon Harlaw and speaks with him "You tilt well. A worthy champion, the field is yours" he inclined his head in respect with a grin

The youth raised his arms in triumph, letting loose a war cry that one would expect to hear if he had just vanquished the most renowned fighter in the realm.
